A brother and sister fish while Dad prepares their gear. A special moment for summer vacation and an equally special moment for a photographer. The light was excellent with showers coming and going. Briefly, the sun illuminates the subjects to intensify the concept. I decided to revisit this image. This was taken in July of 08 when I was still using neutral grad filters. Ultimately for me, they would be more trouble than good, so they are now collecting dust on a bookshelf. Even with a 1.2 grad, I had to blend in a sky from another darker exposure to save the highlights in the clouds. I have found that backlit scenes with intense light actually record best with no filters at all. Even my polarizer is seeing reduced time. Thanks for your impressions and as always, the Larger view brings it to life!

Thank you Nelson, Sumon, Pierre, Mike, Ricardo, Brian and Anne! Mike, did you mean "gooder" or is it really "more better". I really liked the first go, but I felt it did not match my recollection of the scene. I remember the light being almost ethereal, much like this version. Thanks all for your time and thoughtful comments!

The scenery itself is a visual feast, the multi layered elements of sky, mountains , trees, grasses and water contrive and succeed to stimulate the eye, the effect is almost 3D. The human elements add nostalgia and emotion to the scene. It makes standing thigh deep in freezing cold water, whipping the surface with a fly, look much more appealing than it can sometimes actually be! Excellent in every way for me!

Kind Regards

Alf
