Flagellante

This is the second time that I'm attending this Religious "Event" help in

Guardia Sanfromondi", Benevento, ITALY. In honor of "Madonna

dell'Assunta" villagers perform acts of the Holy Bible or History with

religious caracter in the so called "Misteri". A side the are other people

that dressed like him get rids of their sins hitting the back with

the "disciplina" (they're are the Flagelanti), or hit the breast till it bloods

with the "spugna" (they are the "Battenti"). It's really really felt in town

with religious respect and feeling, but make strangers questioning about

the cruelty of the act, especially done by the Battenti.
