markgreenfield 0 Posted October 23, 2010 Hi Ed,I think that Vik is one of the most magical places on the southern coast of Iceland. And the sea stacks are incredible. But... I think that in presenting this shot in a panoramic format, and with virtually no detail in the water, you have made the stacks look much smaller than they are. Personally, I would have either cropped out the cliff on the right hand side, or included something else in the frame (e.g. a person or some foreground grass) to enable the viewer to gain some perspective. I hope this helps.RegardsMark Link to comment
markgreenfield 0 Posted October 24, 2010 Hi Ed,Further to my previous comment, I have just spotted this photo of the sea stacks at Vik by Steen Nielsen. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=11663891Even though the stacks are further away in Steen's photo, by including more foreground detail I think he has increased the viewers ability to get a sense of scale of the stacks.Again, I really hope this helps. (And that it clarifies my previous comment).Best RegardsMark Link to comment
