Donna Stavis 0 Posted August 23, 2010 This b&w certainly contrasts with the quiet, elegant warm one of the young boy. The woman has an appearance of being overwrought -- the pseudo-stage is messy and easy to trip over....girls -- one distraught and lost a shoe, the other worried. The woman holds this baby as if it is a bit heavy on her one arm. Even the bench tilts. A bit of discomfort all around. An unrehearsed photo showing showing some rough spots in the day Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted August 23, 2010 Pnina, this could have been shot some hundred years ago and yet it is from almost yesterday. I like the "two" scenes going on the two small girls placed to be photographed near an ionic greek pillar, and then to the left a mother(?) bringing another "victim", by some kind force. Personally I would concentrate on the two small girls, but the whole scene is of course more dynamic and a story telling scene. Well done. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted August 23, 2010 Pnina, very good capture of natural expressions. Superb tonal contrast. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 23, 2010 I think that this photo needs some explanation. Two professional photographers were photographing (before the ceremony started) intensively the enlarged family. They were arranging adults and children in different modes. The younger children like the two here, did not know what the photographers want from their life ....;-)) and were very confused.. This is the moment I photographed.Donna, with small children it is not always easy, even in a happy event as a wedding, with so many instructions how to stand, how to seat ,how to move..;-))Janegbert and Rajat thanks for your feedbackAnders, Yes this is the mother, a very nice woman that I have talked to. She kept a mother's eye with the baby in her hand. ( not easy). The Greek pillar and the setting were there. You are right that it has a long past time aroma.Amal, thanks for your always nice support. Link to comment
elportebonheur 0 Posted August 23, 2010 Light and tones are priceless - as the scene as such is. Fine work, compliments! Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted August 24, 2010 Pnina; I love this photo! Beautiful to look at with gorgeous tonality, a rock solid composition along with an open ended and timeless storyline of childhood and motherhood. The diaper under the frilly skirt cracks me up :-) The entire scene is fantastic. Link to comment

3m 0 Posted January 22, 2011 Pnina, what a wonderful life moment you captured here! -- So recognizable & I can fully empathize, with both mom & the little girls (who seem to be getting prepped for the official photo pose -- and it must take a bit (too) long for them :-) The little girl's shoe ( likely to be new (& possibly a bit sore) for the occasion on the ground... I like the fact that the mom is only partially shown( & holding a baby). Enough of her is visible to guess what is going on here... Love your B&W treatment as well, the white of the little girls' dresses contrasts beautifully with the black dress of mom, I think. (although, I wonder what that little 'triangular slice of light' is on the mom's upper arm..?) Hope that you are doing well, Pnina & Kind regards to you, Marjolein Link to comment
