wolfgangarnold 142 Posted August 26, 2010 This is part of an old coal mine - same location as "Shaft Tower" (see my "Steel" folder). Fading sunset light and "glow" from inside caught my eye here. Colorized to underline "industrial" atmosphere. Link to comment
Guest Guest Posted September 2, 2010 A very stark composition softened by the interior light you captured. The exposure seems to allow detail to come through. What seem to be wagon wheels below the structure are interesting. Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted September 6, 2010 many thanks for your comment. In fact, what was pure purpose at the time being constructed has matured to an architecture over time. The light inside was luck as it conveys some "life" inside and additional diagonal lines. The wheels at the bottom are cut in half wheels from the nearby shaft tower nowadays just set up there for display. Link to comment
gsaphoto 2 Posted October 2, 2010 On this shot coal mine looks like just cleaned, no dust, no miners...But, work itself interesting with right composition, dimmed light. Thanks for sharing,Grigoriy Link to comment
wolfgangarnold 142 Posted October 2, 2010 many thanks for your comment. You're observation is right - it went out of service already in the middle of the 1980s. Nowadays it's Unesco World Heritage - more see e.g. on wikipedia.Best regards, Wolfgang Link to comment
