Flat on the ground, trying to aim straight up. Obviously handheld.

Instead of creating just another straight-on recording of this building (in Elswout park -- see this folder for more), or a tilted wide-angle shot, I decided to go for something different. I got down on the steps in front of the door, facing upwards. Using a 24mm I managed to include the door handle to make it somewhat recognizeable.

Nice attempt? Should have tried a different approach?

Thanks for your time and comments.

its a nice shot and interesting perspective - at first i thought it was an (empty) pool or garden fountain taken as a normal shot.

my only suggestion would be to get a perfectly symmetrical shot (which it looks like you were trying to do), or tilt/camber it more dramatically.

have a good one!

Let me see what I can do to give you that 'link'.

I like the prospective of this photo. Great tonal range. Not too sure about the right side of the photo. The light seems a bit harsh and the detail has become lost in the bright light.

Nice clear reflection and very good composition.

I love this! When I saw the thumbnail I thought at first that it was boat locks, then I thought it was a vault or a man-made pond, so you really had me going on this one. The architecture is gorgeous, and the angle is really extraordinary.
