Excellent detail Sadegh. So beautiful, this Palace.  I imagine there is 'real gold' within the paint used in these  intricate paintings.  One question if you don't mind. (a bit to jot down in my journal)...I imagine when you photograph in these sacred places, you are not allowed to use a flash....and I don't imagine you would want to.  But is your only available light, coming from the stained glass above? and does this affect your image (all the different colors) or was there some available light that was not coming through stained glass?

Possibly the stained glass doesn't make a difference.  I hope you don't mind me asking. Such places of beauty are hard to imagine. I have seen a few but that was in Rome years ago. This place is extremely lovely, and you have skillfully allowed that beauty to shine.  Thankyou so much for sharing.  Respectfully, Gail

Happy that you like this image, Since week ago I'm working on project called Palaces and historical houses of Tehran and this is the first place . Niavarān Palace Complex is a historical complex situated in the northern part of Tehran, Iran. It consists of several buildings and a museum. The Sahebqraniyeh Palace from the time of Naser al-Din Shah of Qajar dynasty is also inside this complex. The main Niavaran Palace, completed in 1968, was the primary residence of the last Shah, Mohammad Reza Pahlavi and the Imperial family until the Iranian Revolution. The main palace was designed by the Iranian architect Mohsen Foroughi.

This image is inside the Sahebgarniyeh Palace which is the oldest palace in this complex and was completed 1850.

I used tripod and available light with 7 shots as follows:

-3-2-1-0+1+2+3 and later processed these images in photomatix pro 3.2 to achieve a complete range of lights. So this is not HDR which everybody use it, this is a LDR or Exposure Blending.

I hope that I could explain everything for you and if you have other questions please do not hesitate to ask me.

Kind regards Sadegh

Many thanks for explaining the process for taking this shot.  Totally makes sense.  I have not tried Photomatix, hope to afford it in future but the process  itself had me wondering quite awhile ago,  if the program could be used in a very  similar manner to which you did.  Thanks so much for also including the History of the  Palace(s) etc.  What a great assignment.  cheers for now, Gail

A beautiful image of a wonderful place...

Your explaining your image processing is for me, only the proof, if one was needed, of your talent, humility and master level.

I am on the other hand very happy to hear you are working on a project called Palaces and historical houses of Tehran.

I am sure it will be a great success and a work of actual Art whose your great country deserves.

Best regards
