mark_q 0 Posted August 14, 2010 You took quite a challenge to capture this rather busy art scene. My guess is you had a triangle drama in mind, right? Anyway my Exif-reader displays a thumbnail of the color original, so likely good decision to render in B&W.In order to maintain some discussion I have to confess noticing three art works here and thus my imagination is running wild, sorry. If I'm not all wrong there was also a statue with giant hand having a grip on small car. I admit it's easy to play imaginative shooting session but still I'd like to ask whenever you made any further efforts/alternative versions by giving that hand statue any role in this game? Further I wonder if you had access to a polarizer and checked the possible helping effect in this scenery? Link to comment
gunnar1664882369 1 Posted August 15, 2010 The original file is in colour, but I was thinking that the b/w is better for this scene.Yes, a triangle conversation was in my mind shooting this picture, but not yet sure about the role of the woman on the painting for this drama. That is one reason why the image is untitiled and leaving here some further imaginations. There are three art works, the painting in the gallery, the silhouettes on the window glass and the car with gigant hand at the front of the gallery. Concerning the gigant hand I hadn´t any plans and in this picture I hadn´t find any role. But I see your point, Markku, to play further and to shoot this scene and objects from different POVs. Unfortunately this is my only shot from this place. Link to comment
GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted August 16, 2010 Very well done, reminds me of the ones El Porte has done. Extremely original and great use of layers. Congrats, Gail Link to comment
anne_s3 0 Posted August 16, 2010 So creative and technically savvy. Quite a compelling story - or many different stories - can also be told through this picture. I imagine a stern father figure holding up an image of the wife or daughter - who is eager for approval. He doesn't look at her directly or see her there in front of him. And the complexity and sadness is amplified by the image of either another woman or herself, perhaps younger, looking on at the scene with a quiet wisdom. "I see you" might be an ironic title, for it's not clear at all that he does see her. Plus, the voyeur - the viewer- is in the mix here. Great piece of art! Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted August 17, 2010 For me it is a story tellimg beautiful artistic composition. Looks like a girl before showing to the older writer her first novel written... waiting to hear his impression, a test! his point of view make him very important( in his own eyes too.... good for some modesty that his head is a bit cut...;-)). The woman at the photo behind looking at her direction is her mother? some competition in her imagination? her teacher/ guide?. Very interestibg use of reflection and B/W execution. Really enjoyed "reading" your (my) story...;-)) Link to comment
