I can only think you were going for something different, when compared to "Summer Solace".  Regards.

Just shows how different people interpret photography/art images... soooooooooo subjective! Personally, I like it. At first glance, I got the feeling that this, by all intents and purposes, could have been a skilfullly done candid, resulting in portraiture quality. (Although, in reality, I'm sure it was a carefully orchestrated corroboration between you and the model.)

The feeling that immediately came to me is that you caught her swimming (whether true or not), and she is submerged to her neck because she is nude. She is looking off, possibly hearing a sound, ever cautious of her current state of vulnerability.

The next thing that stood out for me, was the perfect lighting, which even produced a touch of Rembrant lighting under her left eye. IMHO, not only is this a keeper, but a wall hanger, and a great piece of art! I would definitely hang this on my wall because it says so much!

The bottom line however, is not what all the other commentors, or myself thinks of it, but rather, how satisfied you and the model are of acheiving your goals with it!

Keep up the good work, and hold hard your vision!

That is a very interesting series of observations...

I do like your interpretation...  the model's father also has selected this as his hands down favorite.

I really appreciate the time you took out of your day to contemplate this portrait.
