jayanti 0 Posted August 7, 2010 So nice to hear from you, and also to 'see' from you. This is well composed, with broad range of tonalities. The bored mood of waiting is well documented. Best wishes. Link to comment
rajnishduara 0 Posted August 7, 2010 Nice concept. Although I would have loved to put one profile within the blank left frame from a different angle, just an afterthought. I like the tones, it has come out well. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 8, 2010 Aptly named. I like this very much, but without the man at left. He is looking away and draws me out of the frame as I wonder what he's looking at.I played around with it a little and this is what I got in Picasa: a square crop, slightly tilted...Hope this helps... samrat 1 Posted August 8, 2010 Jayantidi, Rajnish, Rajatda: Thank you for your interest and comments on my work.Rajatda, I did try to straighten the photo just like you have done; but I found that the bearded man's feet got cut off rather uncomfortably. Also, the square crop, to me, makes the photo abrupt (or incomplete, if you like). To me the fact that the other man looks the other way is not distracting; it adds a sense of realism to the situation. This is what we would perhaps encounter in life rather than an all-complete situation. But thanks for highlighting your points. I have learnt something new from your views. Link to comment
amalsircar 2 Posted August 10, 2010 Samrat, I like the composition and contrast of moods and tone. What are those marks on the lower-half of the wall? It is a familiar sight in North India Railway Station:-) Link to comment
sumon_mukherjee 0 Posted August 12, 2010 This is an attractive street shot with classical cinematographic bw tonality. It’s a story-telling image with an attached feeling tone. Imho, the tilt is a flaw in capture but somehow it goes with the mood of the composition. Best regards. Link to comment
