jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted August 6, 2010 Childhood memories are inbeded in our minds. The process of self stem happens slowly as we grow-up. The open beutiful smile of children denotes caring support or is it our perception of life what really provides for our inner validation! Are individuals with alcoholic and disfuntional parens capable of loving themselfs? Tell me your opinion. Thank you for looking. Rates/Comments appreciated. Link to comment

knobby6 1 Posted August 6, 2010 Good portraits with nice bgs. Another thought provoking caption. My 2 cents would be there is probably some people with disfunctional parents who can love themselves, but they are probably the exception. Link to comment

aarkp 2 Posted August 7, 2010 charming portraits... no simple answer to your complex question... perhaps the larger environment outside the home can counterbalance such factors --people like yourselves for instance, Jorge, who work with such kids can sometimes have huge impact Link to comment

sumon_mukherjee 0 Posted August 7, 2010 Jorge, my friend, the individuals with alcoholic and maladjusted parents are unfortunate. But they can learn to love if other important individuals in their lives love them. Only sensitive and loving people can save their lives. People like you are always there to give them support. Best regards Link to comment

Amen. Link to comment

GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 17, 2010 A great shot jorge.....the atmosphere these children live in is 'damaging' and unsettling. But as they grow, many find ways to cope, many such as this young man are even more fortunate to find their lives transformed by new atmospheres filled with love and support, and patience. I'm sure he will grow up to be a well adjusted man. 'Second' foundations can prove to be just the 'cure'. You are a kind man jorge...and most caring....he is fortunate. sincerely, Gail Link to comment
hstelljes 41 Posted August 19, 2010 Hello Jorge, You once again reach for the emotional side of photography and you do it well. There is certainly nothing wrong with that so why not. Use this medium to its full advantage to get across such beautiful feelings. I say Bravo sir. More people should feel that way. To answer your question is difficult but I know there are people who came from very disfuntional families where things worked out fine. By the way those are some lovely family portraits you have, you're a lucky man. Take care my friend.Best Always,Holger Link to comment
