pnital 36 Posted August 6, 2010 It is a child, that Mesila Org. is helping and arranged. It was a fun day for many of them, in a forest pool. Thanks for viewing. Link to comment
Donna Stavis 0 Posted August 6, 2010 Her eyes connect strongly, and her expression is so serious; she seems older than her years. The lighting is very nice on her. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 7, 2010 Thanks, it was a great fun day for the children, but there are still problems to be solved for many of them. Her gaze reflects probably her inner feelings. Link to comment
Pierre Dumas 266 Posted August 7, 2010 Maybe some other time of the day would have been better!PDE Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 7, 2010 Thanks. The photo was photographed in the middle of the day(bad time for photography) but that was the only time available ,as the fun day was at those hours. I find the light and shadows fitting her mood. (but it is my feeling of course...;-)) Thanks for writing your point of view. Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted August 7, 2010 Having a limited knowledge of Yiddish, I checked the spelling on line: Punam, punim, punem......all sorts of options. I'll take your word for it and use your spelling from now on. Interestingly, I have a friend who is Punjabi whose name is Poonam..... Thanks for the tip. Link to comment
AJHingel 127 Posted August 7, 2010 Very good Pnina and with a great presence. Her eyes meet the viewer immediately. Her deep water diving equipment is marvelous and contrasting well to her black hair. I would have increased the DOF a little so that her arm can play the role fully of framing her face. jorge_fernandez3 1 Posted August 7, 2010 My friend said take the picture and live with it, or do not take it at all. Nice shot showing her as nature provided. Warm regards. Link to comment
aarkp 2 Posted August 8, 2010 an expressive portrait... i agree about the arm but i guess you had seconds to take the shot... Link to comment
jim_hoffman 1 Posted August 8, 2010 Despite the difficult lightcircumstances a very nice portrait,Pnina!Perhaps a bit busy because of all the shadows.Cheers,Jim Link to comment
tonyfrench 0 Posted August 9, 2010 Pnina, I love the contrast of the seriousness of her face with the playfulness of the pink goggles. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 9, 2010 Jeff, Yiddish has some dialects, it depends what area in eastern Europe the language was used . My parents came from Belarus((White Russia)and that is the dialect I know to use. Nowadays I think this is the main dialect Anders I think you are right and I worked on the BG. I change it ( takes time to show) and will upload the version before correction( after the correction will show), thanks for your lighting the point ,so I could enhance the composition Jorg Rajat and Jim thanks, please read what I wrote to Anders and see the correction (after it will show). We learn every day and this is the best part of comments on the net Jim, I liked the strong shadow on her back... It is the light "painting " and fits the time of day it was photographed ( midday in the summer high in the sky sun ..;-)) Tony,Yes I liked the contrast as well. Thanks Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 9, 2010 The corrected version showed up ,so I upload the previous one.Anders ,( or any of you) ,it will be nice of you to tell if it is enhanced ...;-)) Link to comment

AJHingel 127 Posted August 10, 2010 Pnina, I like even better the attach above, concentrating more on the face, but I still have the remark on the limited DOF. I like it. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted August 11, 2010 Thanks both of you.Anders, thanks for taking the time, I wanted the viewer to concentrate on her face and expression, the limited DOF enabled it ,even though after your conmment the end of her hand needed (imo)more attention as the movement of her pose, so I worked on it with a tiny bit on the BG.Thanks again. elportebonheur 0 Posted August 11, 2010 You show in both pictures what you wanted to show: the facial expression, the momentum - or better: an action in condensed form - with lot's of room for interpretation. That's why the shallow dof is more than appropriate. ( Imho only of course). Compliments! Link to comment
Jack McRitchie 150 Posted August 11, 2010 She has such a serious expression as if she has seen too much or experienced too much for a child at such a yopung age. A revealing portrait, Pnina. Link to comment
