GailAnthonyHarmer 6 Posted August 8, 2010 From the time of the Telephone's Invention, a great expanse of time has been traversed as seen in your 'horizen line'. No matter the design, we remain a Populace dependent on the Phone, or a version thereof. Women being very dependant on the Phone (at different levels). In my life I never have liked staying on the Phone a long time. But have found it a necessary convenience. Especially with young children, times when Emergencies arose, contacting a Dr's office or the Hospital or Spouse were necessary. We did not have the Internet, so it also was a wonderful convenience to contact family and friends, consoling the unconsolable, encouraging those who needed encouragement, and at times cheering up someone who so desperately needed to hear the voice of another human.I have an Uncle who passed away a few years ago. My parents were on a Cruise, and because he was becoming frail, and of ill health, Dad asked me to keep an 'eye on him'. Whether I was visiting him that day or not, I always called. At one point I apologized to him, as I felt I was being a 'pest' calling him in the morning and at night, that Humid Summer, making sure he was OK. He said to me ' Gail, no need to apologize. Wonderful invention the phone.....all you have to do is pick it up, dial a number and you can hear the voice of another human being at the other end. I love to hear your voice.'Each Country has their own 'Golden Lady'....and while new 'Ladies' have tried, and managed to steal away some of HER most dedicated 'followers' SHE never ceases to attempt to win us back into HER favor.Your composition SPEAKS VOLUMES to all of us........no matter how the Phone changes, it remains one of our last lines of COMMUNICATION between those we DESPERATELY are trying to contact, in days of War, Devastation, and Seperation. An EXCELLENT composition that speaks to all of MANKIND. congrats, Pierre, THE WIZARD, has done it again! Link to comment

michaellinder 16,611 Posted August 10, 2010 I agree with those colleagues who have found communication to lie at the heart of this photograph. To me, its power is conveying how technological advances have dehumanized communication. This is another outstanding allegory. I would love to see a set of short stories based on your photographs. My best, michael Link to comment
