This image was shot with the zoom set at 17mm with a polarizer at its full effect plus Velvia film. Usually that is the wrong combination as the sky gets overly darkened. However, I kind of like the effect here, but that is not something I would do on a regular basis. And yes, you can over-polarize even at sea level.
