This kind of a picture opportunity certainly requires fast thinking and decisions about how to use the material and compose it in an image.  The light often is changing fast and one must get right to the task at hand.

I think you had several problems here.  First the picture does not look sharp.  Perhaps you used too low a shutter speed and there was camera motion.  Maybe you have a depth of field problem as the trees at intermediate distance look sharpest.

 It is clear that you had a series of decisions about what to include.  You liked the magenta flowers in the foreground as well as the light on the distant hill, but the colors of green, yellow, magenta and blue are hard to combine in an attractive color scheme.

Thank you so much for your comments, Jerry. 

The situation was not ideal for this shot as it was windy making the flowers in the foreground impossible to sit still for the long exposure.  I guess one option is to crop them out but it would be a shame as they add some contrast to the photo.  I will do better next time taking you advice.
