sigqumfemfe 0 Posted July 30, 2010 Please provide any feedback you can. I would appreciate any direction you have to offer. I am still trying to learn how to take my night shots effectively. Thank you in advance for your comments. Link to comment
Jeff Lear 0 Posted July 30, 2010 Actually, I think you've done a really good job here. You've conquered the most difficult part which is the long exposure. It's difficult to tell with only this very small example to view, but it looks like your focus might have been off by a very small amount or possibly you had a little bit of camera shake... or the jpeg conversion and upload just makes it look that way. My only other suggestion would be to adjust your framing next time. It would be nice to see both ends of the blue bridge or a detail zoomed into the taller buildings in the center of your frame where the bridge passes through your image. For this particular image, I would crop the bottom to eliminate the black portion in the bottom left. Link to comment
sigqumfemfe 0 Posted July 31, 2010 Thank you so much for your comment Jeff. This photo is actually 3 photos stitched together. Just to the left of this spot was a big giant flood light pointed right in my direction. There was a massive star on the photo. How do you get rid of those? Link to comment
Jeff Lear 0 Posted July 31, 2010 The star-bursts are made more prominent when using small apertures like f/11, 16, 22. I'm guessing this was shot at ~f/16 in order to get the exposure you wanted and blur the water in the foreground. If you want to get rid of them (or at least make them less noticeable), increase the size of your aperture and adjust your exposure accordingly. Link to comment
