Thank you so much for posting this (American) Night Heron image. My Australian Night Heron image has been likened to this one by a number of American members and obviously there is a great similarity although the colourings (both body and eye) differ considerably.

Not having seen your local Heron, it was hard for me to visualise what the members were relating to, however this fine presentation puts things into perspective for me.

You have a great capture here.......... good definition in the plumage and a solid eye capture.

Yes, patience with wildlife is a must...........
