Taken at Kenilworth Aquatic Gardens Washington DC in April. I had just

gotten set to shoot a great egret when the geese began spreading the

alarm. This rascal popped up out of a ditch and was very focused on a

scent. Being up wind of me he and me being already very still he did not

notice me until he was almost on top of me. What luck.

Outstanding work with he 500mm lens.

The slight exposure of his inner mouth and his eye contact would have me reaching for my concealed weapon. Thank goodness for long lens.

Wonderful colors and focused on the face, razor sharp that part, the rest lacks DOF, but it doesn't matter in this case! Congratulations Michael!
