Adrienne, I like the complexity of the pattern created by the water contrasting to the simplicity of the leaf emerging from it and starting to open,

Adrienne, I think that this has two strong elements - the  ripples, and the leaf itself. This could be contained in a square which would give more exposure to both. As it stands, I feel that these two elements are lost in the whole. OTOH, I could be completely wrong.

Jeff, I think you are right about the square format for this one. There is another (this time dead) lotus leaf I have put two versions of in my new work. I am not sure which is best for that one. If you care to look and comment here I would be interested to read what you say. As always, thanks.

Adrienne, both the square versions are clear winners in my very humble opinion. they make a clearer statement about the image, far more eloquently.
