Melissa,

Tiffany is gorgeous! What a beautiful smile and teeth. She has wonderful skin tone. Her eyes are in critical focus and she has good eye contact with the camera (viewer). Her make-up is done nicely. The catchlights and eyeliner under her eyes really make her eyes stand out well. The background is nicely neutral and Tiffany is well separated from it. I like the soft lighting and nice warm kicker with the highlights in her hair.

The catchlights work well. I do think a single circular shaped catchlight in each eye, above the center of her pupils on the iris, looks better than a ban across her eye -- especially running through her pupils.

The pose is very well done, but I would have her put her left arm down. It looks a little odd stuck out to the side.

Your depth of field is so narrow that the back of her hair and parts of her shirt are out of focus. Even the bottom of her hair is out of focus? I don't see a good reason to have any of her out of focus. An out of focus background is very nice and focuses attention on your subject. Parts of your subject out of focus will draw attention away from what is in focus. It is difficult to go wrong with having the entire subject in focus.

It would be a good idea to soften the lines under her eyes and at the corner of her eyes.

This is a well composed head and shoulders portrait, but you have cropped into her head. This implies a much tighter crop on the bottom. For a traditional head and shoulders portrait you would normally leave some headroom rather than crop into her head.

It would be better not to run your advertising (MELISSA PAPAJ PHOTOGRAPHY) across the photograph. It draws attention away from Tiffany. It is quite appropriate to place you name on a mat surrounding your photograph. Advertising would be better placed on the back of the photograph.

Nice shot,

Mark
