These photos were just sent to me by the people we employ to look after the children in Shadipur. The colony is inundated with rain, many homes compeletely flooded out, the children are suffering from rashes all over their bodies, its actually leptospirosis which can later in life lead to kidney and liver failkure and thus death. No one will take them to a hospital or doctor for treatment because they are considered untouchable. Delhi is spending millions on the upcoming games but turns a blind eye to the suffering of its own people. We are arranging to send anti biotics, but tell me how can this be happening in the world today.Countries seem more intent on spending money on things that help no one like warfare and weapons.I am ashamed to be part of this human race.

I echo your sentiments, there is much to be ashamed of within the human race, fortunately there are people that re-instate my faith in human nature also. A picture speaks a thousand words, this one speaks volumes!

Wow!

I feel this is the best of the 'suffering' images you have posted.  I'd say your shots are among the best documentary forum shots I've seen in a while.  I look forward to seeing more of your work.

Yes you have the right to feel ashame, however, how can be explained of we having everything and others lacking the essentials??????? WE MILLIONS, THEM MILLIONS!!!!!  If you accept that this boy, can be treated, brought to a safe place and his family helped out, you have done your part, as the story goes for this one it does makes a big difference and that is the only way!!! ONE AT A TIME, EACH ONE OF US SENDING ANTIBIOTICS AND DOING OUR PART!!  MORE POWER TO YOU MY FRIEND!!!   Warm regards.

We do tend to be a 'wretched race' too caught up in our wants, forgetting other's needs, selfish, too soon to speak without thinking, hurting others feelings on a whim, overindulging on things that are not good for our bodies, while neglecting to feed our 'spirits'.  I think that is part of the problem.  A race that has been used to pleasing the physical and ignoring the 'inner man'.  The one with a mind that is capable of 'sound thoughts', decisions based on intelligence without having to think twice.

And look at this face.  When I first view this little man I knew something was wrong. I never knew this condition existed. Much like leprosy, I cannot imagine how they feel (on any level). We partake in life but do not truly know how to live.  We occupy SPACE but without no real PURPOSE.

Sad.................very sad............................thankyou for sharing, Gail
