Landrum,

You have a well exposed, well posed image of a man who looks important.  He is dressed in fine clothing, carries an attitude of thoughtful intelligence and seems to be someone who carries weight in some sphere of influence.

However you have centered him in a square cropped space, which immediately diminishes his sense of authority and importance, centering his head so that the distance from his eyes to the left margin feels crowded.  I strongly suggest a crop into a vertical image that places his eyes centrally.  My uploaded example is one possibility.

Regards,

Jerry Matchett

He is a college president, Jerry.

Thanks for the great crop.  I didn't see that one.  Frankly, I can see some advantages to both, depending on the possible application.  For a college brochure or website, yours would definitely work better.

My own crop was based on my sense of the moment: things were happening in the room, and he was standing off to the side watching.

Hi Landrum- This is my favourite in this series. Believe you have captured this individual in a most flattering manner..I see an elderly gentleman, sitting in a relaxed manner listening politely to whoever is addressing him .A person content & satisfied with who he is & his station kn life..For myself, as soon as I saw his image I liked him for the kind of a person I believe him to be.Best Regards_Ross
