john_frederick_white 0 Posted November 19, 2002 Ive tryed to reproduce this as close as the original print. Many find the colours too saturated. Any opinions? Link to comment
richard_lowery 0 Posted November 19, 2002 --colors look fine to me. (All the reddish ground I've seen of Australia are about this hue or perhaps even darker? Ayers Rock? Male of female subject? Link to comment
john_kanon 0 Posted November 19, 2002 This is really a striking image... made me quiet for a while BTW, colors are excellent too, in this photo I think you can get away with the high saturation Link to comment
pabloconrad 0 Posted November 21, 2002 Gives new meaning to the term Child Labor. Almost too posed. Good job though.. Link to comment
mg 0 Posted November 21, 2002 This looks familiar. A wonderful image. Maybe I'd even like it better if it were a tad darker in the highlights. Link to comment
indybri 0 Posted November 21, 2002 The centering of the subject works very well with the symmetry of the birds offset by the shirt hanging to the right. Link to comment
sprouty 0 Posted November 23, 2002 Quite possibly my favorite color shot on the site. sprouty Link to comment
toby_tyler 0 Posted November 25, 2002 Bought back memories of Marc's street shot. This too captures the moment. A great "M.I.L.K." shot. Colours are real life (from my experience)for outback Oz. Link to comment
v. bice 0 Posted November 26, 2002 Sad little girl.....carring home dinner....no shoes...no pants...dirty from head to toe... doesn't speak well for her future in this location. Not a hopeful photo....other than the fact that she will eat tonight. Color is just great, framing is fine....photo tells the story. Good Job. National Geographic Quality! Link to comment
jordan_ryan 0 Posted November 26, 2002 Definitely worthy of National Geographic! I think the pose is fantastic--she's giving a child's uncertain look just as if any one of us stepped out in front of her. Very lifelike. I think the colors are great. Quite a striking cultural difference: if I only had a nickel for every time the child next door brought home a couple dead ducks for dinner! Link to comment
olivia 0 Posted November 27, 2002 Now this is a great portrait that illustrates this child's living conditions and society. The wild hair, sad eyes and dusty feet combined with beautiful light really captivate the viewer. Plus the ducks really add to her story. I would expect to see this as part of a great feature story in a news magazine. Link to comment
jens_kube 0 Posted December 1, 2002 Excellent overall impression. And a lot of questions to ask. Link to comment
levhita 0 Posted December 9, 2002 Wow!,it's almost like a surrealist painting,i would like to see this painted by Dali,it would have big elephants and horses, maybe a couple far away, a father and his son in just a siloutte, but in general, the kid is enough. Link to comment
mplonsky 0 Posted February 4, 2003 This is a classic. I saw it once long ago and haven't forgotten it since. It is as good as it gets. Congrats. Link to comment
