When I go about daily business, like getting my hair cut, I like to make a

photographic memorial, sometimes in traditional ways, like a closeup

portrait of a barber or a customer or a view from the barber chair; here is a

view of two barbers, one male and one female, I felt was unique and

somewhat geometric. Your ratings, critiques and comments are invited

and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very critically, please submit a

helpful and constructive comment; please share your photographic

knowledge to help improve my photography. Thanks! Enjoy! John

Actually, I should not carry my 70-200 mm f 2.8 Nikkor inside places like barber shops, but I do.  This is the result, shooting from one side.

It is not a crop.

I liked the effect, shooting at f l3 hand held with V.R. if you can imagine.

I get the strangest shots because I'm willing to take chances.  This and several others took about three or four seconds to execute from framing, shooting to walking out the door, thanking them.

Shoot and walk out -(not shoot and run, usually)

;~))

Thanks Theo.

A slight correction:

There is a small amount of cropping in this photo, both left and right, to crop out extraneous parts of barber equipment, right, (just a tad) and to put the proper margin around the woman barber, left, as I had left just a smidge too much for my taste.

I was shooting fps (frames per second) to accommodate the low shutter speed, in hopes at least one would be in focus, with my aperture at f13, indoors, so sometimes the image 'jumps around' when there is slight movement and the lens is set on vibration reduction' so while I often shoot multiples of 'iffy' focus situations in hopes one will come out or I'll have a choice, I also have to accommodate that the framing may be not quite what I envisioned and sometimes have to frame just a big 'wider' to accommodate such 'jumping around' of the image as I shoot frames per second or multiple frames.

The whole idea is the capture the subjects  'in situ' quickly without putting stress on them or the relationship between photographer and subjects . . . . to have it all over in a matter of seconds . . . . . without them realizing really how much had been captured or what . . . . . unless they truly wish to view the captures . . . . which didn't happen here.

By minimizing 'stress' on subjects by shooting ultra-rapidly, I am welcome to photograph again and not seen as such a 'pain in the ass' as if I shot everything very slowly, took time to 'set up' and squeezed off every shot, then chimped (reviewed) each shot for sharpness.

Instead, I frame on the run, squeeze off my shots frames per second "C" drive, and briefly review before walking away to be sure something is what I envisioned . . .  and if sharpness is there, and a minor crop will fix all else, I am satisfied.  Otherwise, I just don't like to crop at all -- my 'gold standard' is 'no cropping' which is something I often attain.

Best.
