A corner of a Turner painting--"The Shipwreck"

This corner of the painting shows the turmoil in the ocean caused by a

terrific storm that destroyed a ship. The devastation to human life and

the vividness of that caused quite a stir in Britain. But here is turmoil to

the aquatic life. This is one of my favorites of one of my favorite artists.

It is in the Boston Museum of Fine Arts, and is probably the most

famous Turner in the U.S.
