What a contrast between this color coordinated and carefully presented subject against the litter of cigarette butts and bottles on the floor in the right.  I've heard that flowers make for a very popular gift in Russia.

I love this feeling of expectation suggested by the flowers and packages.   I see the irony the same way Adan expressed above.

Adan and Donna, St. Petersburg is a fairly a clean city. So this contrast caught my eye...

Adan, Yes, flowers as much as I know are especially appreciated there as a present, and in every day life.

At first sight I felt a bit annoyed by the garbage and cigarette butts LR. But it is a nice contrast, really a bit irony, nice idea not to crop. Another nice feature is the crosstalk of forms and colors here. Well seen and captured.

Thanks, it is exactly what caught my eye, the lady with the jeans and high heels, the red of the flowers, pouchs, the red lable and cork of the bottle...and yes, the garbage contrast...;-))

I think this is a fantastic piece with all the disparate bits competing for center stage.  The trash and cigarette buts.  Her not so sensible shoes with ankles beginning to rumple.  The plastic bags and lilies.  And what's not shown.....

This is a great street shot for me as it asks so many questions in my mind, like : - Who are the flowers for? Why are they not wrapped in paper or cellophane? Did she steal them off a market stall? I wonder if her feet hurt in those shoes? Is she a heavy smoker with an incedible thirst?, or did she just happen to stand near some trash? Whats in the bags? Whats she doing with the other hand?

The hallmark of a great street shot for me is thought provocation, and you have done a great job here!

There's something iconic in the juxtaposition of colors and shapes in this picture. It seems more and illustration or poster than a photograph. There is a graphic quality to the lines here like in a very fine engraving.

Alf, thanks for your nice evaluation, I have no answer for  your question about her, but I think  that the trash was there not because of her, she was just standing there,and  the juxtaposition was the  trigger...
