Mark,

This is a beautiful nostalgic looking photograph. The girl is lovely. The background and her pose and expression is excellent. Her skin tone is very good (a tad orangey on her shoulder, though). The colors work together very well in this photograph.

There is quite a bit of headroom. I think I would crop a bit of it. If I kept this much headroom, I would get rid of the dark purple swirly line on the upper right of the background. It draws attention away from the girl.

Your subject should have more room in front of her than behind. This allows her to be facing into the picture, not out of it. You want to compositionally balance the left and right sides of the photograph. The compositional "rule" for this suggests that you position the tip of the subject's nose in the vertical center of the photograph. This little rule almost always works well.

I would prefer to see either both eyes showing or only one. The bridge of her nose is cutting into her far eye.

I normally would prefer light coming toward her face, but I like your lighting. There is a feeling of mystery about her with her face in shadow. I don't care for the light spill on her nose or on her right hand.

I would like to see everything left exactly the same with just the girl turning around to face the other direction and lifting her left hand to her chest. I'm not saying it would be better, but I would like to see how it would look compared to this lighting and composition.

Your name is not part of the photograph. It would be quite appropriate to place in on a mat surrounding your photograph.

Nice shot,

Mark

A most interesting image.  I agree with Mark that you could crop a bit from the left side of the image and perhaps not loose any of the mystery or intrigue that has captured the attention of this very pretty young lady.  The textures and graphic handling of the background certainly add to the interest of this image.  The colors work very well for me too.  Terrific portrait.  Congrats!
