Hi Jim, So was I until I got there (to Dali). This town, Dali, that's all they got, in my opninion. The main ethnic they have in this area is the 'Bai' people, I think (from what I remember). The tour guide (a Bai's minority) charge us 2 days tips for 1 day work, hence, I don't have great feeling for this town or people anyway. Speaks volume for their character! :-)
