Wawona Stream-Yosemite

The tones in this are just breathtaking, especially the blacks on the water, and the brilliance on the granite.  Wonderful work.

Hands down 'Awesome'!  Terrific comp, but it is the black and white exposure and final processing that make this one sing!  Like John said, you got 'em all here!  Well done!  Cheers!  Chris

This is a reworked image made from a scanned 4x5 negative taken in

1987 in Yosemite. My goal was to have a full range image with rich

blacks and details at both ends of the spectrum. I especially wanted

to see good reflections in the water and at the same the ability to

see the submerged rocks in the water. I also wanted to have the

highlights in the foreground bushes to be bight but believable. I

have printed this image many times in the darkroom and lightroom and

believe this to be be my best effort to date You comments are always

appreciated.

It's easy to understand why you've continued to reprint and improve this one over the years. A wonderful photo in all respects, esthetic and technical.
