Barnaby, you are obviously having fun with your new lens, but it seems to me that you have zoomed in too far. As a portrait this seems a little cramped. The background is great - maybe a vertical or square format with more of it showing  . . .

The background is blurred nicely but its pattern competes with the attention you want to be on the duck.
