I would appreciate your thoughts on how to improve this image...what to do or not do.

Thank you,

Carolyn

I would appreciate any insight if this works or not. I am wondering about

the position of her hand/arm. Any help would be appreciated.

Thank you,

Carolyn

I am not a portrait photographer (in the sense that I rarely if ever take staged portraits) so you must take whatever I say under advisement. The light on her right arm is too harsh, her lips too colorless, and the tone is too cool (even cold). The uploaded image is tweaked in Lightroom: i've used the graduated filter tool to reduce marginally the exposure on top and at right (frame); with the same tool I've reduced exposure and brightness on her right arm and the left side of the frame. Over-all I've reduced contrast a bit and notched down clarity. Using the adjustment brush I've darkened her lips and the strips of her eyelids. And I've warmed up the image a little by increasing white balance temperature. Just so you can see an alternative...
