Lester, in many of my places of employment, I've had to do 'window dressing'.....display work.....and when we had our Art Gallery out of our home, 'staging' was a very big element. My homes since then have always been decorated very 'artfully'.  I do not say this to brag, but I cannot help myself.  People have actually come in with Video Cameras to record how I painted or 'staged' the house, when we had them for sale.

But I do this all the time, and I am almost  to the point where  I think I'm 'obsessive'....when I place 'something I love', quite often things I have bought or gifts from family or grandchilldren...I always like to place the item where the light shining in the window will enhance it, I've even done painting on walls and doors that looks 3D.....but while I can't help myself, ti bugs the heck out of me.  I even try NOT to be so fussy, but I cannot help myself...so I've decided to just give in and go with 'MY FLOW'.

I feel the same thing about 'still life photography'.  While I have not done a lot of it myself, but it take a very 'good eye' to put together items that enhance and compliment each other.  You have a 'VERY GOOD EYE'. In this image, even the placement of the 'doily' is important.  Not everyone would have even included it. You took an image that could have been very masculine, but by adding the 'doily' you totally 'changed it up'. Congrats on your attention to detail, lighting, and background. Your complimentary and very rich colors were also an asset.  Excellent composition Lester, Congrats, Gail

Terry & niki - Thank you so much.

Gail - Now that you mentioned it, looking once more at the image the embroidered doily really puts a 'feminine' touch to it. This is a material made from pineapple fibers that are hand-loomed and made into napkins, tablecloths or even male formal shirt, called, "barong". Thanks for your comments which are always a pleasure to read. Best regards! - Lester
