Here in the Philippines many poor people from the mountain areas aredrawn to the cities in hope of a better life. All too often theyend-up in a worse situation than the one they left.

As a result the cities are burdened with masses of desperately poorfamilies living in deplorable conditions.

Both the cities, and the poor, suffer.
