A very natural portrait. IN this one, her golden curls occupy less of the image than the previous GOLDEN CURL image. IMHO I would have focused on her eyes and I might have changed the f3.5 aperture to f5.6 or slightly higher to give you a bit more DOF. I know that produces more detail in the background but that can be modified with post-processing. This just an opinion and you know in our art/photography world there are no rights or wrongs and more important you are happy with it 'as is' then you don't need to change a thing. That is my 2 cents. Best regards and thanks for visiting a few of my recent images.

I  think this is so beautigul Linda.  She is such a lovely looking young girl, beautifull hair and a fantastic smile, very relaxed in front of the camera.  She looks great in both of the photos...congrats Linda  WEll done....sincedrely, GAil

Thank you everyone for taking the time to comment. I appreciate it.

Tony, I haven't done very many photographic portraits. I used to like to draw and paint them, years ago. I think faces, human and animal are facinating. I have ideas about what I want to do but not sure how to achive it. The other portrait of this girl turned out more the way I had hoped it would. I just bought a new camera, this is one of the first shots. So, I am learning and experimenting. I want to try EVERYTHING, but I am just fumbling around trying to remember which end is up. So, I really do appreciate your advice. Thanks again.

Gail, thank you again. She really is gorgeous and she has a sweet personality. I am looking forward to taking some more shots of her. I hope you have a great long weekend. Are you going to the celebrations tomorrow?

Best wishes to everyone!

Linda

Such a pretty photo.  Her face beams and her hair and t-shirt only accentuate the sense of sunrays.

I think I see something in this similar to what Tony is responding to. It has a natural charm and really seems to have captured some the girl's personality. I agree with him that focus on the eyes instead of the mouth would enhance this a bit . . . as would a little more catch light coming into her eyes. The yellow is a great color for her especially backed by the dark green. Her rosy cheeks are beautifully handled and help convey the innocence and sweetness of her youth and trust.

Good luck for your new camera, it takes time to learn the best use of it. I have changed mine as well some months ago and I'm still learning.....

She is very sweet and  I like her smile and  dimple. I agree about the focus, and for my taste I would have liked the whole darker. I played with the middle   tones(74) of levels, and IMO it enhances the portrait. I will show you what I did, I hope you will like it as with the new 10 minutes edit /delete it is imposible to change, but as it is a learning site, I hope you will not mind.

Thank you everyone for stopping by. It is good to hear from you.

Fred, I am going to take some more shots of this young lady and I will be conscious of her eyes. I appreciate the advice. I think that sunny yellow matches her personality.

Pnina, thank you for taking the time to edit this image. I am here to learn. I don't mind you playing with it at all, I am flattered.  I always enjoy seeing what other people do with one of my images. It's like looking at it again with new eyes. You did a good job in only 10 minutes! I like it.

Best wishes,

Linda

Fine, fresh young Lady you captured and presented here. Very photogenic. Compliments Linda! The technicalities are already discussed above I guess.

Beautiful and very nice DOF. Her hair is fabulous. I feel her eyes are not as sharp as they could be but otherwise this is gorgeous

Yes, you are right! She does look like Kim Bassinger. And this lovely little girl doesn't think she is pretty.
