casey_crookston 0 Posted April 26, 2011 This is an intriguing photograph, mostly because of the location. Where is it? Some place Muslim? However, the sky is completely blown out and the foreground is totally lost in shadow. It would be such a better shot if we could see details of the people eating at the cafe. Depending on the resolution you had your camera set at, you may me able to play with the exposure of the original and bring out some of this detail... maybe try some dodging and burning? Also, you could have really played heaver on the cobble stone street by dropping down closer to the ground when you took the picture. There is real potential here, just needs a little bit of post production work. Link to comment
maria 7 Posted April 26, 2011 it is in Tallinn, Estonia, a Baltic (former Sovietic) state, close to the Polar Circle. The sky is white and there is shadow because it is late in the evening. During the day I was in a conference and went walking afterwards, as at such high latitudes the day is longer (sunshine till 11 pm, but like this, not as at midday) Link to comment
casey_crookston 0 Posted April 27, 2011 "The sky is white and there is shadow because it is late in the evening."Understood. But it's still possible to do some post editing with a tool like Photoshop and to bring out details. This is a 30 second hack job, but.... Link to comment
