GailAnthonyHarmer 5 Posted June 28, 2010 An excellent photo decpicting a problem that I was sure eventually you would be adressing. It does not surprise me. Do you find it has a lot to do with how women are treated in these countries, or is it an extenuating circumstance due to the poverty? Photo truly 'yanks' at my heart strings, when I think of how much I love my children and grandchildren and wish them the best. Of course this is a worlwide problem also. Even in our own families. Very well presented Birte. warm regards, Gail Link to comment

ldavidson 4 Posted July 4, 2010 Hi Birte! This is another thought provoking, heart breaking image. It is beautifully composed and the colours could have been put together by a professional designer. It was the colours that first grabbed my attention. Then, the sad young girl, came into focus. She looks exhausted and she has a baby to look after. I think this is one of your best. Link to comment

stupski 0 Posted July 28, 2010 This is a stunning shot. The color harmonies here, together with your perfect clarity of both image and thought, are just excellent. The patterns work perfectly separating the figures from the background and I love how the colors are repeated in the backdrop. The positioning of the mother against the black frame, as though she is leaning against it, was a stroke of genius. The subject matter is another thing entirely for anyone who has struggled to raise a family. This problem is not unique to India. It's everywhere. But you have presented a glimpse into that life with dignity and concern. As it should be. Well done. Link to comment
