Solitude in the forest

Any tips from my fellow backpackers on techniques with point and shoot

cameras? The limited dynamic range requires some hefty PS work...

Love the title, and the picture conveys both a sense of solitude and beauty and serenity.  Nice lighting composition.  Have you tried this picture with just a bit more contrast to better define the beams breaking through the canopy to light the trail?  Just curious. 

I can never get enough of crepuscular light! This is a beautiful shot and I know it's not easy to capture this type of light even with a DSLR, so hats off to you for doing that with a point-and-shoot (and PS) :-).
