Christian, Soft lighting was surely your friend here. I like the way you've covered a bright spot (upper left) with the placement of the vegetation. I've never been there but I suspect your composition has captured the essence of the place. I also think there were some interesting detail compositions in the vegetation covering the wall. Did you explore that? Best, LM.

Shot on a rainy fall day in the gardens of Julius Echter's Jagdschloß

in Veitshöchheim, on the outskirts of Würzburg. Out of the different

color, monochrome, and near-IR shots, I keep coming back to this

one. Thanks for your comments.

Very nicely composed. There is much depth to the image and the repetition of elements is very aesthetically pleasing. I think it might even be stronger if the trees in the upper left were burned in slightly darker. That brighter area keeps pulling my eye away from the more interesting parts of the composition. Good job!

Another beautiful photo! You've been working hard! I really like you choice of vantage point in this shot, because showing the red foliage on the walls really adds the right amount of color to this picutre.

I like the angle of the wall and the fact that you've filled the foregrund so the picture doesn't look out of balance. I like how you covered the bright spot with part of the bush on the left, but to tell you the truth, I don't much care for its presence, it seems a little out of place all by itself. What if you had instead left it, and the next set of pillars in the middle-ground out, and put the next set of pillars (foreground left-middle) along the edge? OR mabye even that patch of red right next to it? That would also get rid of the brighter area there as well. Just an idea...

Christian, this shot is so moody and peaceful. The solitude of the location, it's history, character and 'tempo' have all been captured well.

Colour saturation is good too; those Rokkor lenses really grab so much of the right stuff and put it down on film superbly.
