Iftikhar, a composition of interest. nice lighting. could be a bit sharper. for me all of your borders, shadows and framing ruin what would otherwise be a nice image.

Roger Thanks for your frank expression and suggestion. I wish more people will frankly say what they feel and improve learning. What I thought was good is not good at all. It is time to learn and change. From now onward I will not use borders. Thanks for your help. Regards ifti

I always like to use bolders. From my point of view, it could be more beautiful if the line is pink instead of green.

Iftikhar, am so pleased my suggestion about borders has changed the way you think on them. p/n is suppose to be all about images which is great. i find it sometimes difficult when viewing a image and the borders just keep jumping out at you. for the sake of the image and a proper assessment the less distractions the better. i also agree with you on people critiquing others images. i really hate coming across a image that is not up to scratch with heaps of comments saying beautiful or well done or just whatever. a lot of the rating that goes on here is mates rates, or just people not wanting to hurt someone's feelings. i have always enjoyed reading your critiques and though not always in agreement they always make me think. thank you for that!

Cheers roger

This is a beautiful composition with very good quality of color tonality. With due respect to Roger, imho, the border you have used here is a bit heavy for this flower shot but it has not completely ruined the composition. Best regards.

The tonality and composition are nice and very eye-catching details.

Thanks for your comments and ratings on my butterfly. your this work is truely amazing.. a portrait of flower! bt for me the inner most border shade of the main frame is abit mismatch with the outer multicolour frame. Though it is completely my personal thought and experts may differ :)  Thanks for sharing!

Amazing DOF and details in this macro Iftikhar.....

But the strongest point of this beautiful floral image is IMHO the light treatment which accentuates all these rich pink tones.

I read the critiques regarding the border.  Upon second look, I believe Roger has a good point - the border does tend to overpower the image somewhat.  Having said that, my first impression was the beautiful colors and tone which are truly excellent.  The image actually looks 3D to me.  It would be interesting to see a version without the borders to determine if they are the cause of the 3D effect.  In any case, I think it is a very nice image.

Keep it up, Iftikhar...

Lovely tones, light and colour. Superb DOF. I think a more simple border would compliment it better though.

Agree with Roger about the framing. Like the light on the petal border, which make them shine over the bakcground. Look to see more. :)
