Colorful reflected light in a remote slot canyon environment. The

various rich colors and hues present here are the result of how the

eye, and the camera even more so, record reflections of direct light

onto the already colorful sandstone.

Strange, when I see this shot I think to myself, very natural processing giving a realistic yet still wonderful final image, which is not in style with your other work, it will be interesting to see if this shot works here and the opinions of others.

I like the final processing here Marc, but I wonder if a little more sharpening ( the back looks a little soft) and maybe even bring the exposure down just a touch? That's my personal view anyway.

This reminds me of why I fell in love with the work of Joe Cornish, his work in both his books 'First Light' and 'Scottish Mountains' are very naturally processed and accurate renderings, but they still jump out of the page and command your attention, every single image is carefully crafted and he has an amazing knack of organizing every single element in the frame.

Your work is quite different, it's more painterly, colours glow through the use of various contrast layers and masks, each one in contrast to Joe's work, looks like it's had careful hours/mins spent in photoshop, and I don't mean to point this out as if to disqualify your work for not being legitimate due to photoshop but merely to point out the stark contrast between both your styles. Taking your art to the next level in photoshop is in my opinion perfectly acceptable, especially if it produces results like the ones in your portfolio (this shot being an exception).

Cracking portfolio, but if I was to choose between the two different styles, I think I prefer the work of Joe Cornish. But take nothing away, your work is second only because I highly rate the 'natural processing' his images have gone through and yet still they look absolutely incredible.

In all honesty, I wish I had the pp skills, or, to be more frank, the step by step break down that both of you go through for your work.
