Found this guy in our koi pond fishing. He was very aggressive and hard

to work with so I snapped a few photos and let him be. I didn't want to

make him too uncomfortable. Would love to hear what yall think!

Nice picture.  However, I dont think it is a Diamondback Watersnake.  I lived outside of Dallas as a teen and caught hundreds of Diamondbacks. Their heads are fatter with eyes situated a little higher.  They also have a greener tinge and are more heavy bodied.  This guy looks like Nerodia sipedon, the Northern Watersnake.  The Watersnakes can be difficult to tell apart.  From what I gather on this and other snake photos you must live in East Tx/La maybe even Ar/Ok. Let me know your location and I can help you figure this and the Garder Snake out. Have fun but be carefull with them Coral Snakes.

As you know, I'm not a snake person... at 135 mm it's too close for me.  This guy looks poisonous to me you by his spoon head.  Great capture with his tongue out. Lighting and background good.  Step away from the snake.  Gail
