pnital 36 Posted June 8, 2010 Thanks Lannie, it was real fast! ;-)) It is Yael, a 15 years old dancer, and a very skilled one. Link to comment

Landrum Kelly 64 Posted June 8, 2010 She's superb, Pnina--but so are you. I'm glad you put this up for critique since I first saw it. This is indeed magnificent on large.--Lannie Link to comment
3m 0 Posted June 8, 2010 This is a really beautiful ballet capture, imo, Pnina -- Yael seems very graceful indeed, and this is being emphasized by her lovely pose, and your capture of this. I think your square composition is perfect, as are the B&W tones and the light in the photo. Compliments, Pnina, A truly graceful and elegant capture on your part! -- I really like this a lot. Warm regards, Marjolein Link to comment
markonestudios 4 Posted June 8, 2010 This is a marvellous capture, Pnina, and excellent crop. I tweaked the levels and curves just a bit, to give it a little more punch. I felt that the tones were a bit too flat... Hope you don't mind :) Link to comment

celasun 0 Posted June 8, 2010 The artist, the figure, the lighting and the composition are all in perfect harmony.Deserves a nice, big print and must be displayed at a place where art can breathe. And, I wonder your opinion on Mark Anthony's suggestion. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted June 8, 2010 Pnina; This seems classical in form. The poise and the pose are wonderful. Her placement in the frame is pleasing. I like the way the horizontal lines in the stage follow into the distance and meld with the blackness, for me this adds a sense of depth to the stage. I like Mark's curves adjustment the boost in contrast gives the image more life. I've notice that your last two uploads have been predominantly mid tone with no real black or white. Link to comment
ldavidson 4 Posted June 9, 2010 Enchanting! This dancer is such a lovely, etherial creature, she looks lighter than air. You are doing an excellent job in showing us that dance is a beautiful, elegant living art form. Link to comment
pnital 36 Posted June 9, 2010 Lannie, thanks for following and your second comment, I appreciate it.Keith, thanks for your impression about the scene in general, and the light and B/W work in particular.Marjolein, thanks for writing your impression in depth.I think that the scene/ movement has a lot of softness in it and I'm glad you have felt and wrote it.Mark, thanks for your visit and example . I think that the different in my larger version and yours is minor, but thanks for showing me what you did.Valentyn, Gunnar and Charles thanks all of you.Charles, your working with stage lights, writing your impression is very much appreciated.Bulent,Thanks for your impressions and your very nice expessing them. This photo will be printed ,see what I wrote to mark. I think that everyone see the photo on a different monitor. I still appreciate Mark's example.Gord, I appreciate your taking the time to write me on both of them.I liked the softness of the scene, but I will try to accentuate a little more the black and white, and see how it works.I will print this one soon ,so it will be one more opportunity to check it ...;-)) Thanks!Linda, you have felt my trying to give the scene an ethereal feeling. Thanks, I'm glad for your impression. Link to comment

pnital 36 Posted June 10, 2010 I appreciate your feedback.Amal, I travel to St. Peterburg in two weeks with a delegation, we plan see the classic "Swan Lake " there ....;-)) Link to comment
jeffl7 0 Posted June 10, 2010 Classic and graceful, from the concentration on her face to the pose of her foot. Link to comment
gordonjb 10,860 Posted June 10, 2010 Pnina; Upon returning to this image I find that your photo at the top looks brighter and higher contrast than I recall, yet I see no mention of you uploading a replacement ? To further confuse me Mark's reworked image with a suggested boost in " punch " now looks somewhat dull by comparison to the photo at the top of the page ? At any rate, if the image is the same one I commented on yesterday I retract my comment about it lacking good blacks and white as with today's eyes it look to have a well represented tonal range. pnital 36 Posted June 10, 2010 Thank you both! Gord, you are right I have added a tiny bit of contrast ( no anything els) this morning, added a new (older landscape) photo, but as I have had a meeting about our delegation to St. Petersburg I did not have the time to write it down. Just came back a short time ago, entered to add a comment about it. Thanks for your sharp eye.! ;-)) It will be ready (printed ) in two days. Thanks again to Mark and yourself for your comments, ( the difference was very small though and to my surprise it took less time to show).
