g1 0 Posted August 11, 2001 This is a great optical illusion. At first I thought the necks were intertwined, but it's the kink in the neck of the front giraffe combined with the colour/shadow. Exposure, detail, & colour are gorgeous. What a difference it makes to an image when the sky isnt washed out. Link to comment
mbrown 1 Posted August 12, 2001 I came accross these 2 at an open range safari zoo in Melbourne Australia. It ended up being a very unusual optical allusion. What do you think? Link to comment
paulfisher 0 Posted August 12, 2001 That's not an illusion. Australian giraffes are substantially different from the African variety. Link to comment
amy_hoy 0 Posted August 13, 2001 The illusion, Paul, is that the necks are one in the same and/or wrapped around each other. Some people simply don't pay attention! Anyway... I like it. It's a fresh view of a pretty over-photographed subject. Link to comment
paulfisher 0 Posted August 13, 2001 Gee Amy - I didn't see that! I think Michael and Geraldine would know where I'm coming from, being as they are non-Americans and therefore having a sense of ironic humour :-)) FWIW I like the picture too. Link to comment
