Cliff-Side

First light strikes the massive granite slopes of Cannon Mountain. Once the site of The Old Man of the Mountain rock releif feature, the cliff offer great climbing and hiking opportunities. 2 exposures were used to capture highlights and shadows, as the irregular transition line made it difficult to use a grad ND filter. Forest fires in Quebec, Canada the previous day produced a haze in the air which may have limited the strongest rays from hitting the rock.
