Great work, Deb, and it gives me hope for some future squirrel shots, since it was shot without bright sun--and bright sun almost never shines in my backyard, which is where all the squirrels and rabbits are to be found.

Squirrels are the greatest, aren't they!  You indeed caught a nice pose.  Some possible suggestions to think about...maybe try a square crop on this?  I know...the "Rule of Thirds" and all...but it just might work with the little gal centered in a square frame.  Also, maybe consider using flash (if you are close enough) to try to get more catch light in the eye.  One final thing a nature pro once told me:  Look for unusual behavior and catch them at that--this may make a common animal into a very interesting subject.  Have fun and keep going after these guys, they are great fun to "shoot" (although you burn through  lot of frames to get one "keeper"!).
