marcadamus 1 Posted June 6, 2010 Just a pretty sunrise and wildflowers out in the eastern Columbia River gorge this May. Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted June 6, 2010 Took this one while leading my Great Northwest photo tour this spring. Any commentary is welcomed as always. Link to comment
marc_dilley1 0 Posted June 6, 2010 With all the picture elements more or less centered in the frame it imparts an aura of tranquility. Another winner, Marc, and one of the best Lupine shots I've seen. Link to comment
scottsmorra 0 Posted June 7, 2010 Excellent composition with the flowers/tree/sky. Just curious, is this all one capture or a blend? I'd also like to thank you for explaining how you create your wonderful photos. You are one of the few photographers who consistently explains their work and I really appreciate that. - Scott Link to comment
whydangle 0 Posted June 7, 2010 I'm with Scott, wondering if you are using a blend of multiple exposures. The leaves of the tree have a brilliant quality, yet I know if a grad was used, it would be a challenge to acheive that luminosity. Still, this looks like sidelight and not backlit, so it is perhaps a possibility to get all of that out of one exposure. However or whatever, this latest series of images are kicked up a notch from earlier work Marc. Everything I have seen (here and on your website) from this recent collection is superior. I am so impressed! Link to comment
marcadamus 1 Posted June 7, 2010 Thanks, Mark. There was really no need to filter here, as everything was within 2-3 stops or so. Either grad or blend would have wreaked havoc on those trees and would have taken a lot longer to process correctly, if at all. You're right, I'm at a 90 degree angle to the light here (but very even/flat overall). I did some careful highlight dodging for the flowers and mid-tone work brightening around the tree areas. A fairly easy image to process overall IMO, as long as you don't try to get too fancy. Link to comment
melloncollie 0 Posted June 7, 2010 stunning tones and colors as usual, but this composition, playing with lines is mind blowing! 7/7. Link to comment

john_bloggs 0 Posted September 5, 2010 These same types of flowers are different colors appear in your photographs like they are put there. Link to comment
michaelseewald 237 Posted September 27, 2010 While perusing your wonderful portfolio, most cropped to perfection, I noticed this one stood out as being a bit off balance wise. I scrolled the page down and cropped just under half the sky out (from the top of the trees) and noticed I then stayed in the photo three times longer, studying the front flowers, which were lost before doing so, and even noticing mid-range flowers I hadn't seen, as my eye was 'escaping' right out the top.In doing so, you'll notice the middle of the trees run through the top thirds, and the top of the lupine plant through the bottom third. Stunning piece, as they all are. Link to comment
