Wein, Austria (Vienna) has its share of idealized images of woman,

which this pedestrian must pass on her way down this street in Old

Vienna before she can get to her destination. Women everywhere are

bombarded with idealized versions of womanhood brought by advertisers

who bring the twin messages (1) you need our product and (2) you are

not good enough unless you look as good as the women we pay very

large money to to illustrate the benefits of our product(s). Your ratings

and critiques are invited and most welcome. If you rate harshly or very

critically, or wish to make a comment (pro or con) please submit a

helpful and constructive comment; please share your photographic

knowledge to help improve my photography (shadow above left in

intentionally). Thanks! Enjoy! John (oh, it must be difficult being a

woman who is not a model!)

hey john,

i've decided to give photo.net a try again after a 2 year hiatus.  i'll be slowly uploading photos since i am not a member anymore.

its nice to see three's again.  excellent black and white contrast.  i like how the expression on the womans face, and how she is walking in the other direction as the majority of the pictures are facing.

thanks for story telling when you capture.

Welcome Back!

I haven't dwelled on threes much, though they still appear.

See the photo recently of three men walking down the street, two supporting an apparently grossly inebriated man, center.

The number still works for me from a compositional standpoint which is why I used it in the first place, but of course, I use twos, fours, fives, etc., also.

I hope you are able to spring for the $25 fee at sometime; credit card payment can be a nuisance, but bounced check fees scare off taking checks these days -- a real negative.  (it costs banks nothing to return a check beyond a few pennies and they may charge $35 for the exercise to the account holder, then your bank does the same and it may be their own mistake which causes a bollix or a 'fee' they wrongly tacked on, or some inadvertent thing.  That is life in the year 2010, but the Administration seems bent on changing that, and I endorse that.

I took a hiatus from banking for a very long time and was horrified at what I found when I returned; it gave 'capitalism' a very bad name, and ideally 'capitalism' is a good thing, so long as it is not 'run amok'.

Glad to see you back.

Please stop by frequently and if you feel it appropriate drop a rate, anonymous or not, high or low.

And remember, contributors always are valued here; without you as an audience, I would have no target audience to shoot for.

I understand the desire to see this 'square'.

However that requires a mastery of Photoshop's 'Free Transform' which I don't have and currently do not have a Photoshopper on staff, nor could I post the work of one if I did.  (PN rule forbids such.).

I guess for now, it'll have to be a compromise.

I am greatly pleased that this one pleases you.

Very greatly pleased.

You are after all a tough critic.

And any accolade from you is a good auger.
