Had these ants not been 'preoccupied' with my neighbor's peonies

(beautiful large bushes), I'm sure they would have carried our driveway

away by now. (I handheld the camera, and these studious creatures

barely stay still for less than 'seconds'. I didn't think I'd manage to

capture any of them very clear, but the one on the left must have been

obliging) comments welcome w/thanks.

I concur with you, taking shots of bees for me is hard enough, the little buggers wont stay still,Great shot Gail...

you've taken a familiar genre of photography and added a unique editing effect to help showcase your creative style. That alone deserves kudos Gail. Sure one could suggest more sharpness in the shot would help enhance it, but what you HAVE added is your mark, and thats what it's all about. well done on another great image

Great job, although I find bees far more easy to capture a photo of. Ants on the other hand are near imposible so good on you. And you still (within the .00001 of a second) managed to get deep colors great focus and a good composition.

I love bugs!

A very nice shot indeed!  Perhaps the ants sensed Your presence and relaxed.

Nice presentation too!

Gail, This is excellent. Love the color. The black ants stands out agains the green leaf. The DOF is excellent. Looks like you had at least one source of light on the left. Another nice thing is the ants do not leave hard shadows on the leaf. Love the creative framing too.

Cheers

I Love the colours and composition of this one, however I am deeply suspicious that you have cheated and used hair spray to glue the ants in place! : - )  just kiddin .......but how did you manage to get the little busy things to stay still? Oh and one more thing I always know when you have framed one of your images just right, ......I simply don't notice the frame, as with this one, in fact I had to remind myself to check it out.

Nice work Gail!

Regards

Alf

As your Portfolio inspries, as does your comments on my images. My thanks to you for taking the time out of your busy day to 'speak' to me.  Most sincerely, Gail

Following your progress in your Portfolio has been a great pleasure for me.  Always intersted in art and graphics, I am an 'infant' at learning it all, and it's blending into 'multi media'.  But I always have your photos to look at to inspire and edlucate.  Thankyou for  your friendship here on PN, this media where we are allowed to converse and learn, and inspire. Thankyou for your support and encouraging words. You make life here, 'civilized'.  Sincerely, Gail

Thankyou so much for taking some time to visit and share your thoughts about this image.  I should have probably had a UV filter on my lens as the day was just 'scorching'. The sun was shining full on the flowers and ants.  It was an excellent exercise in my 'continual' lessons on how to operate my camera.  (and I have much to learn).  Your comments were very encouraging....My appreciation for your support, sincerely, Gail.
