I captured this from road on the Sea to Sky Highway that goes from Vancouver to Whistler. The highway runs north along the east side of a fjord. These mountains are across the fjiord and separate it from the Pacific Ocean.  If you look carefully, you will see that many of the trees have a slightly orange twinge. These trees have been attacked by a pine beetle that has wiped out millions of pine trees in the Rockies from New Mexico to Colorado. This area is still in the early stages of the attack. There are entire mountainsides where all pines have died and the needles have turned a rust color. This is about 30 miles from Whistler where the Olympic ski competions were held this past winter. Thanks to all who commented and rated.
