Hi Carl,

The may well be a lot of light, but the resulting image is really nice! I like the highlights in the hair and the way it's left with its natural flowing curls. Michelle is an attractive woman with intense eyes and expression. I’ve wondered about her bare shoulder, I’d like to see an identical shot with a top that has sleeves to compare and learn which is best.

Anywho… top B/W portrait!

All the best

Alec

Hello everbody thanks for the comments. Yes I see now its to much light and Alec I will see if I can shoot Michelle again with a top covering her shoulders very good point. I had to finish a roll film as I wanted to see some landscape shot I had done and used the rest of the film to see how the 140mm lens at 5.6 gave enough DOF to get a portrait sharp. The ambient light in the garden was 1/30 at 5.6 at ASA 100 so I used a single light so I could increase the time but I over did it. But must say I am happy with 5.6 for portraits looking at this. But my light also over powered the background light but will try again.

Fantastic image. I realy like the details you pulled through the whole image specialy on the arm/shoulder area. The composition is very apealing so is the post work.

Truly a great shot
